That Works

The current economic climate in the country put working parents under enormous pressure and limit the time they have available to help their child / children. Riebie Rascals was established to offer you as a parent the peace of mind that your child / children's needs are being catered for.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Our service rests on three pillars:
 
  • A healthy and balanced light lunches and snacks at 15:15.
  • Supervision during homework classes.
  • A safe environment with supervision and security.
 
Parents must please keep to the after-school hours, 11:30-18:00.  If they fail to do so they will incur a R50 penalty for every 15 minutes exceeding the closing time. Riebie Rascals is open during most of the school holidays but closed on public holidays.
 
Meals are provided after school to all after-school learners. Learners must eat their lunch before going to their different sports. Arrange with ladies if lunch will be skipped. Food parcels will be arranged by coaches for learners who play matches. Learners may go to the Junior aftercare at second break to go and eat their lunch.

Homework Classes
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
All learners (Gr 1 – 7) must attend homework classes. After they have finished the homework class, they must return immediately to the aftercare and stay in the designated area. Learners must take their suitcases with them to study classes. Staff members of the school will take responsibility for the study classes. During the attendance of these classes, a register will be held.
 
The study classes are divided into two sessions:
First session: 14:30 – 15:10
Second session: 15:30 – 16:10
 
These times may change to teacher's involvement in extramural activities and meetings.
 
PLEASE NOTE:
Homework classes are merely supervisory classes. It is being supervised by a staff member, but no one-on-one assistance is available. The staff member will only sign the homework to confirm that the learners have attended the homework class. It remains the responsibility of the learner to complete their homework at home, and the parents’ responsibility to check and sign their books.
 
Grade 1 - 2 learners must please bring along an extra pencil bag for aftercare, because their pencil cases stays in class.

To cancel your child’s attendance at Riebie Rascals, we require you to give at least one month’s written notice to Mrs. Zandi Stroebel at the finance office.
